The body of a 48-year-old man was found in Lake Michigan Sunday afternoon, according to Chicago police.
The man was identified as John Puza Jr., of Gary, Indiana, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. About 12:15 p.m., officers responded to help assist marine unit personnel with an unknown person’s remains found in the water in the first block of North Jean Baptiste Point DuSable Lake Shore Drive, police said.

Detectives are investigating, police said.
Puza’s cause and manner of death have not yet been determined, according to the medical examiner’s office.
