A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed Sunday night in north suburban Des Plaines, police said.
Des Plaines police officers were called to the 1300 block of Perry Street for reports of gunfire around 9:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Des Plaines Police Department.
When they arrived, they found the teenager lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the release said. Paramedics worked on the boy on scene, but he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
The shooting appeared to be “isolated” with no threat to the general public, police said in the release.
