Building collapse on South Side newstrendslive



Firefighters are trying to rescue a worker trapped in the rubble of a collapsed building, Thursday morning on the South Side.

“We are trying to get him out,” tweeted Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford, who was on the scene in the 700 block of East Oakwood Boulevard.

The Chicago fire department sent multiple ambulances and rigs to the scene of the collapse of the brick building that was being rehabbed, said spokesman Larry Merritt. No one else has been injured, according to Merritt.
