Charges still pending in fatal stabbing in Edgewater neighborhood, police say – Chicago Tribune newstrendslive



Saturday morning, Chicago police said charges were still pending in a fatal stabbing of a Good Samaritan who tried to intervene when seeing a woman brandishing a weapon at a couple Wednesday in the Edgewater neighborhood.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was stabbed in the chest shortly before 11:45 p.m. in the 5200 block of North Sheridan Road, and was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston where he was pronounced dead.

A 63-year-old woman was found dead in the same block according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, but Chicago police said Saturday that woman was not involved in the stabbing death. Police where awaiting autopsy results in that woman’s death.

As of Saturday morning, the stabbing victim has not been identified and charges against a woman taken into custody were still pending.
