Death of young woman left in West Side alley ruled homicide: officials – Chicago Tribune newstrendslive



A young woman found in a West Side alley had been shot to death, officials said Thursday.

The unidentified woman, who was about 20, was found about 2:55 a.m. Wednesday in an alley in the 2200 block of South Drake Avenue, police said.

A Thursday autopsy determined she died of a gunshot wound to the head and her death was ruled a homicide, the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police said the woman may have been left there and didn’t know who she was or how she died immediately.
