Monday storms could bring 40 mph wind gusts, weather officials say – Chicago Tribune newstrendslive

Temperatures will rise to the high 50s this week, but will start with a “robust storm system” on Sunday night, National Weather Service officials said. Monday morning and night could bring in 40 mph wind gusts.

Stronger and more severe storms will be near or south of the Kankakee River on Monday. Weather officials said those areas could have “a brief tornado or two.” Widespread rainfall could lead to flooded roads and rising rivers in the coming week.

Wednesday will have a high of 60 degrees, but Thursday night temperatures could sink to 19 degrees.

Current conditions at O’Hare International Airport are at 30 degrees with the windchill at 23 degrees.
