Chicago police issued a community alert Tuesday night warning of a man with bi-focal glasses wearing fuzzy slippers robbing postal carriers on the North Side.
The armed suspect approaches postal carriers while they are on their routes and demands their property. The police warned of robberies that happened Jan. 17 about 2 p.m., and Jan. 31 shortly before 3 p.m.
The first robbery happened in 1600 block of North Sayre Ave, and the second occurred in the 1700 block of North New England Avenue.
The robber was described as African-American, between 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with thick bi-focal glasses wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black fuzzy slippers.
