Family, friends and Chicago police officers shared emotional tributes at the funeral Mass for Chicago police Officer Andrés Mauricio Vásquez Lasso today, who was shot and killed on March 1 while responding to a domestic 911 call. The mourners paid their respects to Vásquez Lasso with the solemn rituals of a police funeral.
Meanwhile a little boy has died, a day after he and his mother and two young siblings were injured during a fire that broke out at a firefighter’s home in the Montclare neighborhood. Police said the accidental fire began in a kitchen and the victims, a mother and her children, were taken to various hospitals in critical condition.
