Stink spray sends 3 children to hospital, 13 others evaluated at Fairfield Elementary school, officials say – Chicago Tribune newstrendslive

A Chicago Fire Department spokesman said stink spray sent three children to the hospital Thursday morning, and 13 were evaluated at the scene.

Around 10:15 a.m., an EMS Plan 1 was called at Fairfield Elementary located at 6201 S. Fairfield Ave., after stink spray was deployed into the air on the playground, spokesman Larry Langford said.

At least one child who suffers from asthma, along with two others, were taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good and serious-to-fair condition, Langford said.

Earlier, officials thought it was a fight and that pepper spray was used. But Langford said there was no fight and only a strong smell when officials made it to the scene.
