National Weather Service officials issued a wind advisory Wednesday morning for portions of central, east central, north central and northeast Illinois, and northwest Indiana in effect until 1 p.m.
Officials said southwest and westerly winds were at 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
The gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects, and tree limbs could be blown down. Officials warned of possible power outages.
Temperatures were dropping in the area. Current conditions at Midway Airport registered at 44 degrees.
